Steam system training can reduce energy bills

Dec 31, 2011 | Heat Transfer

Spirax Sarco has released its 2011 training prospectus to help users learn new skills to cut costs and improve the efficiency of steam plant operations.

An important new addition is the Boiler Plant Regulations and Guidelines course (D8). This provides a broad overview of legislation, guidance and best practice for boiler operators and helps users or potential users to understand their legal obligations.

With the Energy Savings course (E1), delegates learn about energy saving opportunities in steam systems, how to estimate the energy requirements of a steam plant and how to calculate the payback period. The application of these skills and suggestions can make a significant impact on an organisation’s energy bills.

Also included in the schedule is the Boiler Operation Accreditation Scheme (BOAS) Refresher course (D6AR). A prerequisite for all BOAS accredited personnel is to complete this every five years.
