Dryer is a good fit

Problem: Precision Blending International’s (PBI) business consisted entirely of blending and milling diary powders for food and dairy products until it was asked to produce an agglomerated blend of finely powdered raw material to improve the processability in food formulations. This meant a third process line was required to moisturise and dry the material. The process line involved a fixed length of machinery, so limited the size options for the drying equipment.

Solution: A circular fluid bed processing system from Kason is now drying the resized protein powders efficiently, and with only a 1524mm diameter, takes up less floorspace than a rectangular fluid bed system. The processor moisturises, agglomerates and then dries the powders, and is working reliably, meeting a production schedule of 12 hours a day, 5 to 6 days a week.
